The Trinity-爪 美高梅游戏 staff includes two full-time athletic trainers who reside on campus. Jay Kellogg and 艾米丽Tucci each serve as teachers and advisors in addition to their work with student-athletes. They are both certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and work in conjunction with the School’s 健康中心 and School Physician to provide comprehensive care for all student-athletes on campus.
教育, 预防保健, emergency management, 损伤检查, assessment diagnosis, and referral are of highest priority for our staff to allow each student-athlete to compete optimally in the Founders’ League. 全年, both trainers staff the Athletic Training Room during practice and game times, meet with students when necessary for evaluation and treatment, and are on-call for any other incidents that may arise on campus. In the event that a student requires more focused care than can be provided on campus, the School has a long-standing relationship with a local orthopedic group and physical therapy group that are able to provide emergency and long-term care for those in need of alternative services.
head injury and Concussion tests
Trinity-爪 is committed to keeping our student-athletes safe. Research conducted by professional and 大学 sports experts strongly suggests the need for normative data to aid in the assessment of head injuries. The School utilizes 影响 — currently the most widely-utilized computerized program in the world that has been implemented effectively across high school, 大学, and professional-level sports to allow for the safe return of athletes to sports following a head injury.
As part of our concussion management program, all new students are given a baseline 影响 Test before participating in athletics. Returning students are required to establish a new baseline every two years. In the event of a head injury, pre-trauma data is then compared with subsequent ImPact testing data to help determine appropriate follow-up care and the potential for the athlete to safely return to play. Students with head injuries are monitored daily by the Athletic Trainers, 健康中心 staff, 如果必要的, the School Physician. Recognizing that head injuries can have a severe impact on a student’s life, the School has designed and consistently follows a plan to allow students to return to school and sports only when fully recovered.
Athletic Training Room
Our athletic trainers are community leaders, and the trusting care they give is integral to the fellowship developed between students and faculty at Trinity-爪.
